Rockwall ISD is committed to communication with the community, our faculty and staff, students and the world at large. We have proudly published news and information about the district on this web space since 2000. The current website you are viewing represents a new phase in online communication and extends our reach with several important improvements:
Our new site introduces an updated look and color scheme, designed to provide visual cues as to where you are looking in the site.
Our navigational philosophy embraces the notion that to a large degree, most users look for content based on the populations to which they belong: Parents, Students, Community and Staff. Although considerable overlap can exist between audiences, we seek to provide a coherent organization based on content and usage patterns. For example, many of the most common informational pages about the district are located in the tab “About RISD,” while programs and services in the district are found in Parents and Community.
Our news and announcement component allows fast publication times by allowing users within our district to write and post news items of interest. These news articles appear within individual department pages and the district news-feed.
With each academic year, many changes and additions occur with the documents, information and resources in our system. What remains unchanged is our commitment to providing the finest educational experience possible for students and a work and learning environment for faculty and staff that supports our mission. It’s our goal to make the RISD website a channel for current information flow, and a venue for cooperation to all who participate in education.
