Substitute Teaching

Thank you for your interest in substituting for Rockwall ISD. Once you have completed the online application, your name will be included for review.

If we are able to include you in a specific workshop, instructions regarding the workshop will be emailed to you at the email address listed on your online substitute application.

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred for a substitute teaching position.
• Preference is given to certified teachers.
• A high school diploma is required for all non-teaching (paraprofessional) substitute positions.
• Substitute nurses must be a graduate of an accredited professional nursing program, have valid RN licenses, BLS certification and a minimum of two years nursing experience.

We review the AESOP substitute registry throughout the year to determine the specific needs of the District and schedule workshops accordingly.

If we are unable to place you in a specific workshop during the 2011-2012 school year, we encourage you to update your online application in July 2012.
