Superintendent Search Process

The Superintendent Search process consists of five phases. Currently the board is conducting interviews with candidates.

Board of Trustees Receives Superintendent Candidate Profile

As the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees continues the search for our next superintendent, they will use input from parents, teachers, principals, staff and community members about the qualities and traits they would like to see in the next district leader. The board hired Horn, Smith, Wood and Preston Educational Consultants to partner with on the superintendent search process. The firm conducted a series of staff and community meetings, along with an online survey, in late February and early March to gather the input. The document has been presented to the Board of Trustees and is available below.

“We want to thank the community and staff for their input during this superintendent search process. We know selecting our next superintendent is the most important responsibility we have as trustees. The profile document will help us communicate to the candidates the clear expectations held by our district and community,” said Linda Mitchell Duran, board president.

In the next few weeks the trustees will conduct interviews of potential candidates with the hope to name a lone-finalist for superintendent by the first week in May.
