TXDOT has recently started a road construction project on FM 552 (Dalton Road) from Highway 205 in Rockwall to Highway 66 in Fate. Currently work is underway from Highway 205 until just east of Williams Middle School.

The construction may slow traffic on FM 552. If you take this road to drop-off or pick-up your student, please allow additional travel time.

While Rockwall ISD was not involved in the timing of the construction, we will work with TXDOT to minimize it’s impact on traffic to Williams Middle, Hays Elementary and Nebbie Williams Elementary when possible.

The project will include resurfacing the road and adding a three foot shoulder on each side of the road. It is projected to be completed in November. The TXDOT project id for this construction is STP 1102(262)HES.
