Office Max surprised Dobbs Elementary teacher Colleen Kosterman with $1000 worth of office supplies as a part of their “A Day Made Better” program. Kosterman, a fifth grade math teacher, was nominated for the award by Debbie Rushing, the Principal’s Secretary at Dobbs.
Bruce Luster, store manager for the Office Max in Rockwall, presented Kosterman with her supplies that included: a new chair, laminator and digital camera.
Kosterman’s colleagues felt she deserved the award. “Ms. Kosterman goes above and beyond. She gave up a week of her summer vacation for Math Camp because she wanted to help her kids get ahead,” said Dobbs Principal Teresa Twedell.
After learning of the award in front of her students and fellow teachers Kosterman said, “I do this because I love you all. Thank you for letting me be your teacher.”
Office Max donated an additional $1000 in office supplies to Dobbs Elementary as well.
Office Max’s “A Day Made Better” program honors 1000 teachers across the nation each year and plans to donate more than $1.9 million in supplies. For more information on the program visit adaymadebetter.com.
