Five Students Honored at Rockwall American Legion 96th Birthday Luncheon

Five Rockwall-Heath High School juniors were honored at the Rockwall American Legion 96th birthday luncheon this past week. The five student leaders were selected to attend the prestigious American Legion Auxiliary Bluebonnet Girls/Boys State 2015. Chosen as outstanding student leaders, they will represent their community at Girls/Boys State this summer where they will learn the fundamentals of self government by creating a mythical 51st state. The purpose of the program is to educate youth on the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of American citizenship. The week-long experience will include a visit to the State Capitol where they will assemble in the halls of legislative bodies and meet state officials.
