Janie Blackwell’s 3rd grade class at Springer Elementary, after studying about American Heroes and Clara Barton who helped start the Red Cross in the United States, decided this was a very worthy cause. Students collected money to donate. In two weeks they raised $167.27 for Red Cross. They passed on the chips and ice cream they could have purchased at lunch to donate. We are very proud of them wanting to give back to the community.
Ms. Hamm from Helping Hands and also works with Red Cross, came yesterday, so my students could donate the money in person. Thank you Ms. Hamm and Thank You kids in Ms. Blackwell’s Class for a job well done!
