Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath High School took part in the 2015 Southwest Showcase at AT&T Stadium on Friday, September 11.
Infiniti, the show choir from Rockwall-Heath High School, and the show choir from Garland High School joined forces to sing the National Anthem during the Rockwall-Heath vs Garland game. The group of about thirty-five students from the competing high schools celebrated America with a rousing performance of the Star Spangled Banner. The combined group was conducted by Carolyn Butterworth, Choir Director at Rockwall-Heath High School.
Rockwall-Heath Hawks started off the night against the Mesquite Horn Jaguars. The Hawks led the game at halftime 9 to 6. It was an exciting game but the Hawks lost in the last 7 seconds. The final score was 16 to 20 Garland Owls.
Rockwall-Heath Hawks are now 0-2.
Rockwall High School kicked off at 8:30 p.m. for another exciting game. The Jaguars led 9 to 7 going into halftime. By the third quarter the score was 33 to 32 with Jackets leading. In the last 7 seconds Horn kicked a field goal finalizing the score 33 to 35 Jags.
Rockwall Yellowjackets are now 0-3. District begins at home this week against North Garland.
