Lady Hawks Begin Quest For State Championship

The Lady Hawks volleyball team once again took District 12-5A by storm this season finishing 14-0.(30-13 overall) In fact, the Lady Hawks are 56-0 in the past 4 years in district play. The streak gets even more impressive for the seniors. The Lady Hawk Class of 2016 has NEVER lost a district match dating back to 7th grade. The average record for the Lady Hawk seniors is around 76-0.

Even though the Lady Hawks have had one of the most dominant teams in the state of Texas over the past several seasons; the last two seasons have ended in heartbreak after a Regional Semifinal loss to Plano in 2013 and a Regional Quarterfinal loss to eventual state champion Lovejoy in 2014.

This current Lady Hawk squad will be entering the playoffs with a different role than in years past. They will be playing the role of the underdog. Once heavily favored in years past, the Lady Hawks are flying under the radar this year and that is quite okay with the current squad.

The Lady Hawks will open at North Mesquite High School Monday afternoon at 6:30 against Hillcrest. The Lady Hawks defeated Hillcrest in 2014 by a final of 3-0 in the bi-district round.
