Amy Parks Elementary held their third annual Boosterthon Fun Run. Students and staff spent a spirited week of fun, challenges, and pledges as they celebrated “Big World Recess”. Each day, students met with the Boosterthon team for a team huddle. During the huddle students focused on the character traits of curiosity, humility, practice, endurance, teamwork, and confidence while hearing and watching children from all around the world share their life experiences.
Students completed the “50 State Challenge” meaning they collected pledges from all 50 states. Because they completed the challenge, students receive one week of no homework. Teachers showed their spirit by dressing up each day, creating and performing cheers for their students, taking pies in the face, and running with their students during the fun run. Parents came to cheer, support, and volunteer for their kids demonstrating their support for the Fun Run. The Big World Recess event was a huge success bringing spirit, comradery, and smiles to all that participated in this school wide event.
