Rockwall High School Cheerleaders Compete at First Ever UIL State Championship

The Rockwall High School cheer squad traveled to UT Arlington to compete in the first ever UIL Texas State Spirit Championship January 15th and 16th. They competed against 100 other 6A schools in three different categories, including fight song, band dance and time-out cheer.

The team ended up 30th out of 89 teams. After the preliminary round Rockwall placed 15th out of 89 in the crowd leading cheer portion of the competition. “They looked amazing and really represented Rockwall High School with class throughout the entire competition,” Varsity Cheer Coach Denise Hedges said.

The cheer squad looks forward to competing again next year and hopes to have an even better finish.
