Rockwall ACDEC Finishes Third Place Statewide


Rockwall ACDEC finished the year with a new school record of 52,174.4 points and a third place finish statewide, losing only to Coppell and Highland Park in a battle in which all three teams traded leads over the weekend.

Going into the last event, the three teams were separated by a mere 30 points, but in the end, the Jackets finished third, FOUR points out of 2nd place.

The team took home first in the Super Quiz, and individually broke several records:

Individual Honors:
Wesley Scivetti: medaled in 6 events and finished with not only the best Scholastic score, but the best overall score in the state. His score of 9,444.3 is also a new Texas Academic Decathlon record.
Rachel Shafer: 3 medals along with the 2nd highest Scholastic score in the state
Sam Warren: 2 medals, 4th highest Scholastic score in the state
Dan Scivetti: 4 medals, 3rd highest Varsity score in the state, new Rockwall record for Varsity students
Tara McCoy: 4 medals, top 10 individual score statewide
Cody Sachse: 2 medals, including the top essay score in the state
Grace Taiwo: second highest interview score in the state

Other students that competed with the team were Amber Nguyen and Alexander Rohrig
