Rockwall High School Theatre Wins Best Costume Design

The Rockwall High School Theatre Department won the award for “Best Costume Design” for The Addams Family at the Dallas Summer Musicals High School Musical Theatre Awards, which were held at Music Hall at Fair Park last Thursday, April 14.  This marks the first win for the RHS Theatre Department, which has participated in the DSMHSMTA for four years.  RHS has entered six musicals during those four years which received nominations in the areas of Best Scenic Design (2 years), Best Lighting Design, Best Musical Direction, Best Orchestra, Best Choreography, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Actor. Throughout the year, three judges visit each high school and judge the productions in 16 categories: Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Musical Direction, Best Choreography, Best Orchestra, Best Scenic Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting, Best Ensemble, Best Crew, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Featured Actor and Best Featured Actress.
