Rockwall ISD Celebrates School Library Month

Traditionally, librarians are associated with books and collections of books, but our librarians do so much more than that for our schools.

Our librarians and libraries throughout the district play an essential role in transforming learning and helping us stay intact with the continually evolving world of technology.

“Being a librarian you get to meet every student in the building and you get to help them with so many different things,” Utley Middle School Librarian Becky Frierson said. “Rockwall is so supportive of their librarians and it’s such a special thing for me to be in Rockwall ISD.”

Throughout April, school libraries are encouraged to create activities that help their schools celebrate the crucial role that strong school library programs play in a student’s educational career.
