Sheri Stodghill Fowler Beginning Teacher of the Year Award

Congratulations to Grace Jones, fourth grade teacher at Hartman Elementary, for being named the 2016 Sheri Stodghill Fowler Beginning Teacher of the Year.

This award is a new tradition being established in Rockwall ISD for 2016. The award is in memory of Sheri Stodghill Fowler who was the Chief Communications Officer for the school district for nine years before her passing last January after a lengthy battle with cancer.

The Beginning Teacher of the Year award is designed to recognize outstanding teachers who are in the first year of the profession who have shown dedication to the profession and to personal growth and development.

Sheri loved Rockwall and Rockwall ISD and enjoyed honoring teachers at the annual Teachers of the Year banquet. Grace Jones will be recognized at this year’s Teacher of the Year banquet on May 6 and will be presented with an award from Rockwall ISD and Sheri’s family.

Congratulations Grace Jones and thank you to Sheri’s family for allowing Rockwall ISD to honor Sheri’s legacy.
