Perot Museum Presents “Fire & Ice” at Pullen Elementary

The Perot Museum recently visited Pullen Elementary to teach the students about fire and ice. They took volunteers from the audience, making it an interactive and fun way to learn.

“Mrs. Surber (a 6th grade reading teacher) volunteered and she had to eat a Cheeto that had been put in dry ice,” said Sarah Achacos, a 6th grader at Pullen. “It surprised everybody that her tongue didn’t freeze.  They told us that we actually eat dry ice all the time in certain desserts.”

Other experiments included blowing up a balloon with fire and freezing flowers and balls with dry ice. Students also learned that heat expands and cold contracts.
