UMS Competes at Future CIty Competition
This weekend, 3 future engineers, Laura, Brooklyn, and Robert, competed in the Future City Competition. This year's challenge was to plan a senior friendly city. The students not only had to build a scale model and present it, but build a virtual city, design a PowerPoint presentation, and write a 1500 word essay. They did not place in the top 5, but this was a highly competitive event with 60 teams hoping for a spot in the National competition in Washington DC. This is the first year that any team from Rockwall ISD has ever competed in the contest. The students learned many valuable lessons and are excited about returning next year and putting their engineering skills to use!
