Rockwall-Heath HS Black Hawk Robotics are Back-to-Back UIL State Champions

 

The Rockwall-Heath HS Black Hawk Robotics Team recently won the UIL State Robotics Championship for the second year in a row, closing out another successful season for Black Hawk Robotics. 

 

At the UIL State Robotics Championship, the team ranked 3rd after qualification matches and was selected by the 1st ranked team, Robonauts, from League City.  Also, joining the winning alliance was the Steel Talons from Katy.  The alliance went undefeated in the elimination matches sweeping the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals matches by an average score of 403-235.

 

Earlier in the year, the team won both their regionals, Arkansas and El Paso ranked 1st with a record of 32-3.  At both regionals they also won the Industrial Design Award. 

 

At the World Championships, the team finished qualification matches ranked 1st in the Newton Division with a record of 9-1.  They selected the Robonauts, Howdy Bots from Austin and the Aluminum Narwhals from San Diego.  The alliance swept the quarterfinals and semifinals matches but lost their 2 finals matches by a score of 313-252 and 370-368 becoming the Newton Division Finalist.
