The Rockwall High Robotics Team Awarded at Waco Regional Competition

The Rockwall High Robotics Team attends Waco Regional Competition and Wins Award

The Rockwall High Robotics Team, Full Metal Jackets, recently attended the Waco Regional Competition March.  The team won the Gracious Professionalism award.   This award is a way of doing things that encourages high-quality work, emphasizes the value of others and respects individuals and the community.

The Full Metal Jackets helped 10 teams at the Waco Regional Competition.  Students with mentor guidance assisted these teams by helping with mechanical, electrical and software issues, as well as helping teams with their formal presentations.

The team also assisted teams by offering spare parts to teams in need.  There were two teams that came to the competition with boxes of parts, not realizing they should have a robot already built.  The fix-it team known as the Swarm helped them build a competition ready robot so that they were able to compete the next day.

The team had the most nominations for this award earning them the Gracious Professional Award.
