• WELCOME CLASS OF 2025!

    11th Grade Checklist

    Fall 2023

    • Prepare for the PSAT! All 10th and 11th graders take the PSAT on 10/12. Taking the PSAT qualifies you for the National Merit Scholarship Program, which could earn you money for college. It is also a good way to practice for the ACT and/or SAT. You can find PSAT practice material HERE!
    • Evaluate your Postsecondary Options! Now is the the time to follow a more specific path. Decide whether you want to pursue full-time employment, further education, or training (such as a vocational-technical school, career college, or two-year or four-year college), or a military career. If you are interested in attending a military academy, talk to your counselor about starting the application process now.
    • Make a College List! If you plan to attend college after graduation, now is the time to start making a list of schools that meet your most important criteria (i.e. size, location, cost, etc.). Did you know that you get 2 excused absences during the school year to visit colleges? Use the College Day Form to take advantage of this!
    • Check NCAA Requirements! If you want to play Division I or II sports in college, start the certification process and check with your counselor to make sure you are taking a core curriculum that meets NCAA requirements.

    Winter 2023 - Spring 2024

    • Build Your Credentials! Be sure to keep track of academic and extracurricular awards, community service achievements, etc. This is information you will need when applying to college and/or building your resume!
    • Stay Involved! Taking on leadership roles and making a commitment to the same groups are more important than trying out tons of new activities each year.
    • Take Standardized Tests! SAT day for juniors will be on March 22, 2023. You can find SAT practice material HERE!
    • Apply for a Summer Job or Internship! Summer employment and internships will look appealing on a college application or resume for post-high school employment.
