Temporary Parent-Led K-6 Virtual Option for Elementary Schools

  • Released August 13, 2021
Dates: Begins Wednesday, August 25th - Friday, October 15th

We are excited to welcome your child back to school this fall and will continue to implement health and safety protocols for the new school year, including parent-requested desk and table shields, as well as the option for parent-provided face coverings. We know that the best place for children to learn and to thrive is in school, and we are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment so that we can welcome each and every student back to our classrooms.

While our primary focus is in-person learning under regular school operations for students, Rockwall ISD will provide a temporary parent-led Kindergarten through 6th grade virtual learning option to begin the 2021-22 school year. This option is for parents who are seeking an alternative experience to in-person learning for their child(ren). The virtual option will begin on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021, and will be reviewed prior to Friday, October 15th, 2021 for potential continuation. The District will continue to work with local health authorities, as well as monitor Texas Education Agency guidance and future legislative updates. The Rockwall ISD Temporary Parent-Led K-6 virtual option is a self-directed, online experience led by the parent/guardian at home.
