I grew up in Garland, TX, and graduated as the Valedictorian from Lakeview Centennial High School in 2002. From there I went to Texas A&M University in College Station where I became the proudest member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2006, WHOOP! I majored in Psychology and minored in English through the school of arts. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from A&M I came back to the Dallas area and worked at the SMU Bookstore for a year while I began working on my alternative teacher certification through Region 10. In the spring of 2007 I began substitute teaching in Garland ISD, then I got a full time teaching position at my alma mater where I happily taught for 4 years. During that time back at Lakeview, I taught English I Pre-AP and English II; I served as the drill team assistant director for two of those years; and I met and married my husband who was a football coach there at the time. After that fourth year at Lakeview we both moved on to Greenville High School where I got to teach English III. From there we moved to Sulphur Springs and managed an RV park (VERY long story!!) for a while before we moved to Forney. I substituted for a year then taught full time in Forney for 4 years. I got to teach English II & III and coach the freshmen cheer squad while at Forney High School. Now that we have moved to Rockwall and I was lucky enough to get a teaching position here in 2018, I am ecstatic to see what the future brings for me and my family!

This year (my 5th here at RHS) I will be teaching English IV and after school EOC ELA tutoring.
