    Week 3: September 3 - 6 (Unit 1: Properties of Matter TEST September 10th)

    Alternate assignments: See google classroom for now.

    Mon 9/2 - Labor Day - NO SCHOOL!

    Tues 9/3 - Solubility Notes (Google classroom)

    Wed 9/4 - Solubility Lab: Best way to sweeten your tea?

    Thur 9/5 - Pull together notes and summarize key concepts to be covered on next week's test.

    Fri 9/6 - Work on Unit 1 Study Guide: Properties of Matter

    Week 4: September 9 - 13 (Unit 1: Properties of Matter TEST September 10th)

    Mon 9/9 - Grade Unit 1 Study Guide (Study Guide KEY) and answer any remaining questions about tomorrow's test.

    Tues 9/10 - Unit 1 Test: Properties of Matter

    Wed 9/11 - Test Corrections. Each corrected answer will add one point to the test score, regardless of the original grade. Everyone will correct any answers they missed. These corrections are the FIRST step in being allowed to retest for a 70% maximum retest grade.

    Thur 9/12 - Introduce Unit 2 Exploratory lab simulation (Atom building PHET Sim)

    Fri 9/13 -  Unit 2: Atomic Structure POGIL

    Week 5: September 16 - 20 (Unit 2: Atomic Structure TEST next Wednesday, September 25th)

    Mon 9/16 - Finish POGIL packet. 

    Tues 9/17 - Grade/Go Over POGIL packet. Atom Theory notes and Visual Primer (A=P=E : M-A=N)

    Wed 9/18 - SUB will give a couple of handouts to be turned in at end of class or first thing tomorrow. (I will be writing on-level curriculum at central office)

    Thur 9/19 - Atom Boards. A graphical hands-on way of modeling Atomic Structure

    Fri 9/20 - Finish Atom Boards and begin practicing for the Practical Test (a test of your skill in modeling atomic structure of random atoms)

    Week 6: September 23 - 27 (Unit 2: Atomic Structure TEST WEDNESDAY! September 25th)

    Mon 9/23 - Unit 2 Study Guide

    Tues 9/24 - Grade Unit 2 Study Guide (KEY will be HERE).

    Wed 9/25 - Unit 2 Test: Atomic Structure

    Thur 9/26 - Test Corrections

    Fri 9/27 - Bohr-model periodic tables and Atom Board Practical (add together for one test grade: each is half-a-test)

    Week 7: September 30 - October 4 (Unit 3: Periodic Table of Elements TEST September 11th)

    Mon 9/30 - Return graded work. Atoms Family and Tour around the PTE (due tomorrwo to be graded)

    Tues 10/1 - Grade Atoms Family and Tour Aroudn the PTE. Turn in.

    Wed 10/2 - Nova video selection: Mendeleev and the discovery of the PTE. Theo Gray's periodic table table.

    Thur 10/3 - Quick quiz recognizing periodic table trends and properties.

    Fri 10/4 - Van Der Graf generator and bonding. Ionic vs covalent bonding.

    Week 8: October 7 - 11 (Unit 3: PTE TEST September 11th)

    Mon 10/7 - Bonding: Ionic and covalent notes. Demonstrate electron movement and attraction/repulsion of opposite/like ions (charges) in real world.

    Tues 10/8 - PTE 'Pop" quiz to determine how ready they are to face test-like questions. Bonding and electrons. (Van-Der-Graf generator)

    Wed 10/9 - Practice copying notes to PTE for test. Crash Course Chemistry video. Work on Study Guide.

    Thur 10/10 - Grade Study Guide, Create PTE notes to use on test.

    Fri 10/11 - Test Unit 3: Periodic Table of Elements (PTE)

    Week 9: October 14 - 18 (Unit 3: PTE TEST September 10th)

    Mon 9/14 - No students. PD

    Tues 9/15 - Test corrections. Start copying notes from Unit 4: Cheimical reactions. Identify chemical reactions vs. physical reactions. (GETCOP)

    Wed 9/16 - Day of Demos. CER write on Friday.

    Thur 9/17 - Cartoon chemistry and counting atoms.

    Fri 9/18 -  Claim. Evidence. Reasoning. Writing over Day of Demos. (due Monday)
