Our mission is to serve students who are deaf or hard of hearing by providing educational opportunities which empower them to become productive and independent individuals.
Since hearing impairments are such a low incidence population, Regional Day School Programs for the Deaf (RDSPD) in Texas were instituted by the Texas Education Agency to provide quality services to all students in Texas who are deaf or hearing impaired. Students may be served on their home campuses by teachers who are certified to work with students who are deaf/hard of hearing, or come from several districts to a central school location for education services. Rockwall ISD is a member district in the Mesquite Regional Day School for the Deaf, along with many other districts.
