Parent/In-Home Training

  • Parent Training is a related service designed to assist parents of students who are receiving special education services understand the unique learning styles and needs of their children and implement strategies to assist the family.
     
    In-Home and Community-Based Training is a related service primarily intended to promote generalization of desired IEP skills and behaviors from school to the home and/or community setting or home to school.
     
    The need for the related services of In-Home and Community-Based and Parent training is determined on an individual basis. Each service is recommended to the ARD committee after an evaluation determines that the service is educationally necessary; i.e., when it is required to assist a student with a disability to benefit from special education.
