Welcome to 5th Grade Math
Degrees and Certifications:
It is my mission to provide a safe, risk-free environment where my students are a community of leader learners and where students work collaboratively while also taking ownership of their learning. I will help students learn skills they will need in order to participate in a 21st century workforce. I will help students discover the importance of math in their lives now and how math will help them to be college and career ready.
This is my tenth year as a fifth grade math teacher at Dobbs Elementary and my twenty-first year as a teacher in Rockwall ISD. My love for teaching continues to grow each year because it allows me to work with great kids and grown-ups. I enjoy helping and watching students grow as leaders and mathematicians.
At your earliest convenience, would you please send me an email or a note with your child that tells me how you use math at home or at work? I would like to share your messages or notes with our students in order to answer the big question, "Why do I need to learn this math?" Thank you very much!
Feel free to contact me whenever you have any questions or concerns regarding fifth grade math or homeroom issues.
We're going to have a great school year with our new fifth graders!
