Students Serving Others Day

  • As you know, Rockwall ISD places great emphasis on educating students about the importance of serving others. SSO (Students Serving Others) Day was April 16!!

Below are details about what was accomplished:

We had a great time helping out members in our community Saturday.  Our girls were at 3 different sites.  One site was Mr. Larry Parks.  We helped Larry clean up his yard and plant new flowers for his flower bed.  This is our 4th year to work with Larry and we love visiting with him and hearing his stories about him and the love of his life. &#X1f60a

Another site our girls were at was the house of Ms. Gilma who is 94 years old.  We cleaned her windows inside and out.  She was so sweet and we loved visiting with her.  We look forward to seeing her again and hopefully getting her out to a lady jacket basketball game!

Our 3rd site was at the home of Ms. Lisa.  She is from Vietnam.  She recently broke her femur and is unable to do any cleaning inside or outside her house.  We were able to vaccum, mop, tree trim, and clean up her flower beds. She was as sweet as she could be and we loved getting to know her and serve her.

    Thank you
