• Meet Director Charlsie Griffiths


    A native of Dallas, Charlsie Griffiths attended the Juilliard School where she received her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance in 2002 as a scholarship student of Yoheved Kaplinksy.  She continued her graduate studies at Juilliard as a student of both Yoheved Kaplinksy and Joseph Kalichstein completing her degree is 2004.   Ms. Griffiths also studied chamber music and accompanying under Rohan Da Silva, Andre Emelianoff, The New York Woodwind Quintet, and violinist Robert Mann.  Previous to her studies at Juilliard, she was a piano student of Dr. Pamela Mia Paul, studied violin with Arkady Fomin of the Dallas Symphony, and was concertmaster of the New Conservatory of Dallas from 1996 until her graduation from high school.  Ms. Griffiths joined the faculty Rockwall ISD in 2008.  During her time in Rockwall, she has been the Orchestra director at Utley Middle school, the AP Music Theory teacher at Rockwall-Heath High School, and a collaborative pianist for both the Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath High School bands and choirs.  Currently, she is the orchestra director at Rockwall High School.


    Ms. Griffiths resides in Dallas.  She is an active adjudicator, clinician, collaborative artist, educator, and performer.  She holds memberships with the American String Teacher Association, the Texas Music Educators Association, and the Texas Orchestra Director Association.


    Meet Assistant Director Joshua Hadsell


    Mr. Hadsell moved to the Dallas area in 2012 but previously grew up in Northwest Arkansas where he began his love of music playing viola in his schools orchestra program.  He attended college at Evangel University in Springfield, MO and received his Bachelors of Music Education in 2010.  Soon after, he became a private string instructor at a local music store where he grew the program of three students to over 25 under his guidance.  He then moved to Texas in 2012 and became an elementary music teacher for two years with Richardson ISD. In 2014 he began teaching at Rockwall High School and various elementary schools in Rockwall ISD.

    Mr. Hadsell lives in Rowlett with his wife Leah and their golden retriever Gordon.
