Meal Charge Procedure

Secondary: Students will be allowed to charge three (3) meals, combination of breakfast and
lunch. If the student continues to have a negative balance on the fourth meal, then an alternate
meal (fruit, vegetables, grain/bread and milk/ or juice and toast for breakfast) will be offered,
whether it be breakfast or lunch. Regular meals will be offered as soon as the balance is paid.
A student with a negative balance will be allowed to purchase meals with money in hand at the
register, however, purchase of snack items will not be allowed if the student has a negative
balance.

Collection Procedure: Child Nutrition will use the District's automated call system, to call
households who have students with negative balances. The call system provides a reminder that a negative balance has occurred and additional funds are needed for cafeteria purchases.
