Device Checkout Agreement

Staff members agree to the following when checking out a Rockwall ISD device:

  1. I understand that the device and the associated peripherals (bag, charger, etc.) are  the property of Rockwall Independent School District and it is to be used primarily for school purposes.  I understand that limited personal use is allowed.

  2. I will use the device issued to me in accordance with the procedures found in the Employee Handbook.

  3. Use of this device, or any other district technology resource, shall not be considered private. Designated district staff have the authority to monitor district's technology resources at any time to ensure appropriate use.

  4. I hereby agree to:

    • Keep that device secure at all times. 

    • Lock or shut down the device when not in use.

    • Never leave the device in plain view in a vehicle.

    • Be the sole user of the device. 

    • Not alter or disfigure the device, device case, or charger.

    • Keep the device away from food and drink to avoid damage from spills.

    • Keep the device in its case when transporting between locations.

    • Use the device case for storage of the device, charger, and other device peripherals only.

    • Not write on, draw on, or add stickers to the device, case, or charger.

    • Keep my device charged for use during all instructional and professional development days.

    • Not circumvent any administrative controls (such as Internet filtering or endpoint protection) that are on the device.

  5.  Theft or Damage

    • If the device is stolen, I understand it is my responsibility to report that theft to the police, my supervisor, and the Technology Department.

    • If the device is accidentally damaged, I understand it is my responsibility to report the damage to the Technology Department via a Help Desk ticket or phone call to the Help Desk.

    • If the device is intentionally damaged, I understand it is my responsibility to report the damage to my supervisor and the Technology Department.  Charges for repair or replacement may incur.

  6. I understand that my device and associated peripherals must be turned in by my last contract day.  If equipment is not received before or on the last contract day, a stolen equipment report may be filed with the police department.
