This is my fifth year at Utley Middle School and I am excited to begin another year at Utley.  Before this I worked at Community High School and taught all levels of High School students.  I taught many different subjects as well, which has helped me to be a well-rounded facilitator and teacher in the classroom.  My first year teaching, I was selected as Secondary Teacher of the Year for my district and I know that I bring great things to my classroom.   I will be coaching football and track this year, which means email will be the easiest way to contact me for a quick response.   My email and other information will be located at the bottom of this page.

US History:

This year we will focus on the time period of “New Discovery” to Reconstruction after the Civil War.  The foundation of our country was developed during this time and by learning about this time period, it will help us to understand why the United States is the way it is today. 

STAAR Scores:

Last year, 99% of my students passed US History STAAR test.  They met a goal we set at >96% and because of this, they got to decide what my facial hair would look like to start the new school year.  The style they chose was Mutton Chops.  This will be the style I will have for my yearbook photo and have on the first day of school. The picture can be found as my profile picture at the top of this page. 

Two years ago, I set a goal for my US History students for their STAAR Test.  Their goal was to have 100% pass the STAAR Assessment.  This summer we received the results and everyone of them passed their test and in return I had to hold up my end of the deal and go skydiving.   So here is the link to the youtube video of my dive: Skydiving Video
