A Special Message From our Principal & CTE Executive Director, Alison Belliveau:

  • I am so excited to be the principal of the AMAZING Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy for the 2022-2023 school year.  I look forward to getting to know parents, students, and community members. As we gear up for this year I wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little more about me.

I was born in Hollywood, California, however, my father was commissioned into the United States Army when I was 3 years old, so I grew up around the world.  My father was a Chaplain in the Army and my mother was a stay at home mom until I was in high school and she began a career in education. I graduated from Tarleton State University – Central Texas with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. I worked full time as an Assistant Manager at a local bank until I began my career in education.

I married my loving & supportive husband, Owen, in 1996 while in college. I started teaching in 2000 as a Business and Marketing teacher at Robert M. Shoemaker High School in Killeen, TX. While working at SHS, I received my Masters in Educational Administration from Tarleton State University – Central Texas. I started my administrative career as the Career & Technical Education director in Temple ISD. After 4 years, I returned to Killeen ISD as a CTE administrator and opened a building similar to the Burton Academy. After 7 years as an administrator in Killeen, I was given this wonderful opportunity with Rockwall ISD.

As I mentioned, I am married to a very loving husband, Owen, and we have two wonderful children. Haley is in her 3rd year in college and Mason is a 11th grader at Rockwall High School.
I look forward to meeting you and helping the Burton Academy be a shining star in RISD and the great state of Texas.
