Mrs. Kara Burkart

About me: I graduated from Texas A&M-Commerce with my Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. My passion has always been teaching, so I also persued an alternative certification to teach. While I am certified to teach math, physical education, technology education, and elementary, my passion is to teach middle school math. I have taught 5th grade math in Royse City and spent many years a substitute teacher or preschool teacher in Rockwall. This is my first year at Cain and Utley and I am so excited to be here! I am looking forward to encouraging students to love math, but also build up their self-confidence and see the amazing people that they are!

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 17 years. He is an extremely intelligent and hard-working electrical engineer. We have three kids: a daughter in 7th grade at Williams Middle School and boy/girl twins in 3rd grade at Nebbie Williams Elementary School. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and an aquarium full of fish and live plants. I love to run, cook, and work in my garden.
