I am super excited to be at Amy Parks Heath Elementary as the 4th-grade math instructor.

1. be confused.

2. make mistakes while learning from them.

3. speak, listen, and be heard.  Everyone's thoughts and strategies matter.

4. write, do, and represent only what makes sense to them.

Before moving to Texas, I served as a research assistant in cognitively guided mathematics instruction at Florida State University and as a literacy facilitator/coach through the James Patterson Literacy Challenge at the University of Florida.  I have taught grades K-5, provided professional development to schools, mentored new teachers, and observed graduate interns.  I have presented twice at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conferences because I am so passionate about math education!
