Transfers

• A transfer application must be submitted using the appropriate link above.
• If a new transfer is approved for a new student to RISD, a New Student Online Enrollment application must be completed.
• Proof of residency will be required with enrollment
• All other required enrollment documentation

Yes. A non-refundable $50 application fee is required and must be paid through the link provided within the application.

Yes. Campuses may be closed to transfers based on:

• Building capacity
• Current enrollment
• Growth projections
• Teacher allocations
• Class size considerations

All transfers are approved for one school year only, in accordance with Texas Education Code requirements. Students must reapply and requalify annually.

Students with serious or ongoing disciplinary concerns may not qualify for transfer approval. Existing disciplinary placements, attendance concerns, or behavioral issues may be considered during the review process and could result in denial or revocation of a transfer.

Yes. Transfers may be revoked if:

• Attendance expectations are not met 
• Disciplinary rules are violated 
• Academic progress is insufficient 
• Parent cooperation with campus or district staff is lacking 

Yes. Parents may withdraw their student from Rockwall ISD or return their student to their home campus at any time. Any future transfer requests would require a new transfer application to be submitted and approved.

• No. Sibling status does not guarantee transfer approval. Each transfer request is evaluated independently based on:
  • Campus capacity
  • Current enrollment
  • Growth projections
  • Staffing allocations
  • Class size
  • Boundary considerations
• All siblings must independently meet transfer eligibility requirements.

Yes. If after-school care is available at the assigned campus, transfer students may enroll on a fee basis, subject to space availability.
