Transfers
This page refers to students who are already enrolled in Rockwall ISD.
The Student transfer application window has closed.
Other than the children of full-time employees of Rockwall ISD, the District does not accept students for enrollment who live outside Rockwall ISD boundaries.
Transfer Guidelines can be accessed below:
Rockwall ISD adheres to the neighborhood school concept; therefore, all students shall be assigned to and shall attend the school in their home attendance zone.
For this reason, requests for transfers will generally be denied unless extenuating circumstances, such as a documented compelling hardship, exist.
Residence changes are not considered a compelling hardship.
Application Timeline:
- April 1 - June 1, 2026: Transfer requests for Children of District Employees and students CURRENTLY on an approved transfer.
- April 7- June 1, 2026: Transfer requests for students NOT currently on an approved transfer or those requesting a transfer to a new campus (Applications for 6th, 9th and 10th grade students are considered to be new transfer requests.)
- June 1, 2026: Deadline to file a transfer application
Due to enrollment numbers, Rockwall ISD will not approve NEW transfer requests to the following schools:
