Board of Trustees Approve Middle School #4 Principal Jacob Payne

The Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Jacob Payne as the principal of middle school #4.

Mr. Jacob Payne has served Rockwall ISD as Associate Principal of Student Services and an assistant principal at Rockwall-Heath High School for the past seven years. He has previously served as an assistant principal at North Forney High School and Tyler Legacy High School. He has been a middle school teacher and coach, leading his basketball team on a streak of 47 straight wins. He has also been a high school Spanish teacher and a professional basketball player.

Mr. Payne earned a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. Mr. Payne can fluently speak, read, and write both English and Spanish.

Mr. Payne’s professional experiences and accomplishments include the following:

• Aspiring Administrators Academy,

• Developing and implementing a systematic approach for campus-wide positive student behavior support,

• Skilled facilitator of the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) process;

• Google Classroom Presenter, and

• Developing and coordinating multiple systematic campus-wide processes for increasing efficiency, streamlining communication, and improving safety.

Mr. Payne will continue serving Rockwall-Heath High School as the Associate Principal during the spring semester while planning for the opening of Middle School #4 in the fall of 2025.
