Culinary Arts Student Crowned State Champion, Advances to National FCCLA Competition

Culinary Arts Student Crowned State Champion, Advances to National FCCLA Competition
Luci Mouton

Rockwall ISD and the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy is proud to announce that Kennedy J. has been named a State Champion at the Texas FCCLA State Leadership Conference earlier this month.

Kennedy earned 1st place in the Baking & Pastry event, qualifying her to compete at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. this July, where she will represent both Rockwall ISD and the state of Texas.

This achievement reflects Kennedy’s exceptional skill, dedication, and commitment to excellence in the culinary arts. Her success is also a testament to the guidance and mentorship of her instructor, Chef Hernandez, whose support played a vital role throughout her preparation.

Congratulations to Kennedy on this outstanding accomplishment! We look forward to supporting her as she competes on the national stage.
