Fashion Design Team Shines at National Leadership Conference

Fashion Design Team Shines at National Leadership Conference
Luci Mouton

Fashion design students at the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy proudly represented Rockwall ISD at the 2024-2025 FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, with five national qualifiers earning top honors.

Each student earned a gold medal award, competing against more than 45 students nationwide in each category. All five students placed in the Top 12 across three categories: Fashion Design Level 2, Fashion Design Level 3, and Fashion Construction Level 2.

This year, two students, Raleigh M. and Sophia B., made history as the only students in the fashion design program to ever claim the title of National Champion for two consecutive years, each placing in the top three of their categories.

“Our fabulous award-winning group is no doubt one of the most exceptional and talented National competition teams that I have ever known and coached,” said Mrs. Renee Aube, FCCLA Fashion Design instructor at the Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy.

Congratulations to the following students:
