More Than 250 Rockwall-Heath HS Students Recognized for Academic Achievement
Luci Mouton
Rockwall-Heath High School honored more than 250 students for outstanding achievement in academics on Nov. 20, 2024. Students were recognized for their achievements in Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, National Merit and College Board, Superintendent Scholars, and Trustee awards.
Principal Todd Bradford acknowledged the work the students put in to earn these prestigious awards.
“Each of these students today has dedicated countless hours to further themselves academically or through extracurricular activities,” said Bradford. “Exhibiting an unwavering commitment to succeed.”
Advanced Placement Program
College Board recognizes high school students who have demonstrated outstanding college-level achievement through their performance on multiple AP exams. AP Scholar awards come in different levels and types:
AP Scholar – students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
AP Scholar with Honors – students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
AP Scholar with Distinction – students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
AP Capstone Diploma – students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing.
