Rockwall HS Student Council Advisor Named District 3 Advisor of the Year
Luci Mouton

Rockwall High School’s student council advisor, Tim Watson, has been named the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) District 3 Advisor of the Year. Watson, who has served as Rockwall’s Student Council advisor since 2021, was nominated by fellow student council advisors and elected by peers across District 3 for his outstanding leadership and commitment to student empowerment.

TASC District 3 covers a broad area of North Texas, spanning 17 counties from Palo Pinto in the west to Hunt County in the east, and from Ellis County in the south up to the Red River.

As District 3 Advisor of the Year, Watson will now advance to consideration for TASC State Advisor of the Year, an honor to be announced at the TASC Annual Conference this spring. Rockwall High School will serve as the conference coordinator for this year’s statewide event.

Under Watson’s leadership, the Rockwall High School Student Council has achieved remarkable success, earning TASC Sweepstakes honors and the National Association of Student Councils Gold Council of Excellence Award for the past four consecutive years.

“Tim Watson exemplifies what student leadership is all about—service, dedication, and a passion for helping students find their voice,” said Mr. Dane Steinberger, Principal of Rockwall High School. “We’re proud of his recognition and the example he sets for our entire school community.”
