Driving Excellence: Larry Stevenson Named District and Regional 2026 PCAT Bus Driver of the Year

Larry Stevenson has recently been named both the district and regional 2026 Property Casualty Alliance of Texas (PCAT) Bus Driver of the Year. Mr. Stevenson has served Rockwall ISD as a bus driver for six years.
The award honors bus drivers who demonstrate leadership, perseverance, strong relationships with students and parents, and technical skill. Rockwall ISD’s Director of Transportation, Jennifer Gardella, said she is proud to present the award to Mr. Stevenson and celebrate the district’s strong commitment to student safety.
“His unwavering dedication and compassion for students are evident in his daily service to [the district], consistently helping our team grow and excel,” said Mrs. Gardella. “As a Special Programs driver, Mr. Larry covers three campuses every day, knowing each student by name and providing individualized attention that helps them succeed.”
Mr. Stevenson will represent the north central region and move on to consideration for the statewide PCAT bus driver of the year. Rockwall ISD is proud to have Mr. Stevenson serve our students, and we are grateful for the positive impact he makes every day.
