Rockwall ISD TAFE Students Shine at Area 11, Send 27 Competitors to State

Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) students from the Dr. Gene Burton College and Career Academy made an outstanding showing at the Area 11 competition on Friday, December 5, where 45 students represented the district at the largest area conference in Texas. Their hard work paid off in a big way—27 students qualified for the State competition taking place in February.

Students competed across a wide range of education-focused events designed to showcase leadership, creativity, and teaching potential. From lesson planning and professional development to children’s literature, support services, and ethical problem-solving, Rockwall ISD students demonstrated impressive talent and future-ready skills.
