Rock Nine Announces Teacher of the Year, Paraprofessional of the Year, and BEST Teacher of the Year

During the month of January, Rock Nine staff members submitted nominations for Teacher and Paraprofessional of the Year. On Wednesday, February 4, all nominees were recognized and winners were announced at the award ceremony. Additionally, all new teachers on campus participate in the district BEST (Beginning Educators…Successful Teacher) program throughout their first year in education. The BEST Teacher of the Year is chosen by the campus administration team and was also recognized at the award ceremony.
Congratulations to Rock Nine Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Geraldine Robertson, Math Teacher. Nominations for Mrs. Robertson said, “Geri is a passionate and dedicated educator who goes above and beyond to support her students’ academic growth and personal confidence. She invests an extraordinary amount of time and care into building relationships, meeting students where they are, and ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed in math. She pushes her students to reach their full potential, yet does so with genuine care and encouragement, truly loving them BIG TIME. Her relentless dedication to every single student makes her an exceptional teacher whose impact strengthens both her students and the entire Rock Nine community.”

Peers said of Ms. McCoy, “Jessica has shown remarkable growth in her first year of teaching, developing into a confident, purpose-driven educator who puts students at the center of her work. She creates a positive, engaging classroom environment, seeks and applies feedback, and collaborates effectively with her team. Her professionalism with families, reflective mindset, and genuine care for students reflect the skill of a seasoned teacher, making her a well-deserved BEST Teacher of the Year for Rock Nine.”

Nominations for Mrs. Mauvais said, “Ms. Jacque, day in and day out, shows her unwavering dedication, resilience, positive spirit, and willingness to help wherever needed. From answering phones to covering classes, she does it all. She consistently goes above and beyond to support students and staff, serving as a trusted and calming presence who helps create a safe, welcoming environment across the campus. Jacque approaches each day with optimism, strength, and a genuine desire to uplift others which has a lasting impact on our school community. Rock Nine is better because of her.”
