Rock Nine November Celebrations

Rock Nine November Celebrations
Jessica Applegate

November Student of the Month, Staff Member of the Month, and Teacher of the Month were awarded on the Rock Nine campus this week.

Congratulations to Rock Nine Student of the Month: Carolynne K., who was nominated by Librarian, Mrs. Applegate. She said, "Carolynne consistently exemplifies our value of Take Care of Yourself and Others. She visits the library daily and is an avid read who checks out books frequently, but what stands out most is her respectful and mature behavior. She is often the voice of reason amongst friends. She encourages others around her to clean up after themselves and respect the library. It’s not always easy to speak up among peers, but she does so with kindness and confidence. Her quiet leadership truly makes her a role model for others." Carolynne was given a surprise recognition during her Honors Biology class and was awarded some treats and a certificate.

Congratulations to Staff Member of the Month: Michael Jones, Counselor. Nominations for Mr. Jones said, "Michael is truly an asset to our campus. He advocates for students academically, socially, and emotionally. Students and staff trust him deeply. He consistently brings sound judgment to every situation and is a counselor all can rely on." Mr. Jones was surprised in his office with a goody bag and certificate.

Congratulations to Teacher of the Month: Lekesia Scholl, Special Education Teacher. Nominations for Mrs. Scholl said, "Lekesia pours into her students every single day – whether it is in World Geography, IPC, or with students on her caseload. She truly understands their needs and creates structured, individualized plans that help them succeed. Working with her is effortless, collaboration feels natural and is always centered on what is best for kids. She consistently helps create a classroom environment where students feel supported and challenged. She is the kind of co-teaching partner everyone dreams of." Mrs. Scholl was surprised during one of her classes with a goody bag and certificate.
