Robotics Race Off!

Robotics Race Off!
Kaylah Austin

In robotics, students took on the roles of both coders and builders as they dove into the exciting world of robotics. After completing one section, they swapped roles and learned a whole new skill set! The main focus was building their first "base robot." Working in pairs, students hunted down the correct components, assembling them with precision. Once the base was ready, they connected the robot's "brain" to their controller and got hands-on experience with different driving mechanisms.

After some practice, the real fun began….

Round 1: Students challenged their teachers to an epic figure-8 race. While Mr. Bady came very close to beating some of the 2nd-period students, in the end, the students crossed the finish line with a well-earned victory and a big W!

Round 2: Round 2 turned up the excitement with a full-on Teacher vs. Teacher face-off! In Period 2, Coach Chatmon and Pedersen went head-to-head, with Coach Chatmon claiming the win. Period 4 saw Soeder, Mortali, and Coach Gainey in a fierce triple threat, and Coach Gainey came out on top. The competition wrapped up in Period 7, where Coach Nails edged out Owens and Judge for the victory!
