Utley Middle School STEM students used their engineering skills as they designed and built CO₂ dragsters in Mr. Griffin’s class. Throughout the project, students applied principles of aerodynamics, physics, and design to create lightweight, high-speed cars powered by compressed carbon dioxide. They experimented with different shapes and materials, learning how factors like weight distribution and air resistance affect speed and performance. While racing their completed dragsters, students saw firsthand how science and engineering come together in real-world applications. We loved this hands on activity!
