Mrs. Kimberly Hughes

My name is Kim Hughes and I teach 7th Grade Honors Science and 7th Grade On-Level Science.  I am looking forward to a great year of learning and discovery in science! 

I have a degree in Zoology and Psychology with a certificate in Environmental Studies from the University of Wisconsin- Madison. Go BADGERS! My interest in animal behavior led me to a job in Texas at a nearby zoo. I loved working with animals and helping teach people of all ages about animals and their habitats. I followed that love of teaching to Garland ISD, where I taught middle school science for several years before starting a family of my own. After staying at home with my own children, volunteering, and working as a substitute teacher, I was able to join the fabulous WMS staff as a teacher here 5 years ago. Science is all about curiosity and learning and I am excited to lead my students down the path of discovery in science this year! 

For the 2022-2023 school year, my schedule is as follows: 

1st, 3rd and 4th period: 7th grade Honors Science

6th, 7th  and 9th period: 7th grade On Level Science

2nd period: Conference
