Free Breakfast and Lunch for All Beginning 9/24
Good news for families! Rockwall ISD is proud to announce USDA and TDA waivers allowing RISD to provide breakfast and lunch meals at no charge to all students, with no financial qualifications required for participation. The change will be in effect beginning Thursday, September 24, 2020, throughout the end of the school year, or while USDA funds are available.
Free breakfast and lunch will be available for in-person learners in the school cafeteria and remote learners through the curbside Grab’N’Go service at the following six locations: Rockwall High School, Rockwall-Heath High School, Cain Middle School, Utley Middle School, Williams Middle School, Cullins-Lake Pointe Elementary School from 1:00-1:30 Monday-Friday. All Children 18 years or younger are eligible for Grab’N’Go meals, at no charge, at the six Grab’N’Go meal site locations. Documentation proving guardianship is required if a parent picks up meals without a student present: student PIN, student ID, Skyward Family Access enrollment page, or birth certificate.
Snack items, or a la carte items, are not included with the free breakfast or lunch meal, and will be additional charges. Meal charges incurred before Thursday, September 24th, will still be owed as an outstanding balance.
The Child Nutrition Department encourages families to continue to submit meal applications for Free and Reduced Meal Program so that qualifying students will still receive meals after December 31, 2020, or when USDA funds are no longer available.
