Michelle Foster

Welcome!  I am excited to be back at school teaching your 1st Grader this year!   My name is Michelle Foster and this is my 20th year to teach 1st Grade.  I have experience in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 4th Grade as well.  Once I got the opportunity to teach 1st Grade, though, I found my place.  Each child will learn and grow SO MUCH this year.  Very quickly, our class will become more like a family as the kids settle in and we work together to stay healthy and safe.  I also look forward to working closely with you to keep you informed about what we are learning and give you opportunities to help your child.  I will do my best to provide qulaity, engaging learning opportunities, even with the challenges that come with social distancing.

A little bit about me:

I have two kids of my own.  Drake is 12 and he is starting 7th Grade at Williams Middle School. Christian is 17 and he will be taking his classes online this year.  My boys and I love being outdoors, exploring and enjoying nature, especially in and around bodies of water!  They both sometimes catch little critters for me to show and teach about in class.  Of course, they do this safely and always return whatever it is back to where they found it. My favorite thing to do is read. I have a true passion for books that I hope to pass on to your kids. To help me with that, read good books to and with your child as often as you can.  You play a huge role in getting your child interested and excited about books and the many other things we will learn.  There will be many times to celebrate every child as they grow and progress through this year!
